In New Mexico you call New Mexico 811: two full working days advance notice; UFO marks within two full working days of ticket effective date. Ticket life: locate markings valid 15 working days from end of advance notice period; wide area tickets reaffirmed every 15 working days.

Tolerance zone (hand dig inside it)
18 inches either side of a marking (expose by non-mechanical/vacuum).
White lining (premarking)
Encouraged; white premark defines actual excavation site and supersedes ticket instructions in enforcement.

Good to know: A white premark counts as the true dig site, even over what the ticket says.
